James Tarver didn’t stumble into boudoir photography — he was called to it. Years ago, he realized what he truly wanted to photograph wasn’t a landscape or a skyline, but the moment a woman’s face stops hiding. That flicker of recognition. He built Colorado Springs Boudoir around that single moment, and has spent 14 years perfecting the experience that leads to it.
His approach is built on radical inclusivity and technical mastery. James has photographed women in their 20s stepping into their power for the first time, and women in their 60s and 70s finally ready to celebrate every line they’ve earned. He specializes in posing for every body type and lighting for every skin tone — creating an environment so safe that even the most camera-shy client forgets she was nervous. His editing philosophy is simple: retouch for polish, never for fiction. The goal is always the real, luminous you.
James is a member of the PPCGS Photography Guild, the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), and the Association of International Boudoir Photographers (AIBP). He has photographed women celebrating milestone birthdays and weddings, women healing from cancer, divorce, and loss, and women who simply decided it was time. Every session stays with him.

My name is James and I’m so happy you found us! I’m a published Boudoir Photographer living in Colorado Springs this a certified professional photographer specializing in natural light boudoir photography, located in Colorado Springs Colorado.
I began my journey in boudoir photography 14 years ago, and I can honestly say this is my dream job—I feel incredibly fortunate to do what I love! Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing women of all ages, shapes, and sizes rediscover a part of themselves that had been missing or uncover a side they never knew existed.
I truly believe boudoir photography is a transformative, life-changing experience that every woman deserves. It’s a powerful, beautiful celebration of who you are, and you are absolutely worth it.
